Current technology allows real-time recording and processing of EEG signals and together with Machine Learning (ML) algorithms it would be possible, for example, to determine which character on a monitor a person is looking at and thus implement a BCI speller. In this talk we will see what a BCI is about and its applications, such as a speller for people in a state of confinement and we will talk about the future line of research and development to be carried out at the Technological University of Uruguay.

Biography

Lucas Baldezzari is a bioengineer and professor in charge of the bioinformatics laboratory at UTEC.

Máximo Gurmendez

Title: Big data applied in real time betting for advertisements

Summary: Nowadays there are several opportunities to include advertisements in different media. These range from banners on websites to video commercials between episodes of streaming platforms. Many of these spaces are auctioned in real-time auctions between competing servers representing different advertisers and products. In this instance we will present the ecosystem and the challenges in Big Data that appear in this industry. We will also mention some projects carried out by the University of Montevideo on this subject.

Biography

Máximo holds a degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad de la República.
