Organized by ANIU and a foreign sponsor, the award seeks to recognize individuals, groups of individuals or institutions that introduce innovation in the Uruguayan forestry chain<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Through the organization of the Rosario Pou Award for Innovation in Aspects of the Forestry Chain in Uruguay<\/strong>, whose bases are available here<\/a>, we stimulate the implementation of activities that have a positive impact in areas related to the forestry industry in our country.<\/p>\n

The contest<\/strong><\/p>\n

The works must be original, submitted by Uruguayan citizens between August 15 and October 15, 2022<\/strong>, indicating the sector: forestry, industrial processes or logistics.<\/p>\n

Registration can be done in person or by e-mail: acadinguy@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The prize will consist of a symbolic element and USD 5,000. The panel may also award commendations.<\/p>\n

The selection of the winning entry will be based on three criteria: impact, innovation and sustainability.<\/p>\n

Eng. Rosario Pou<\/h4>\n

Rosario Pou Ferrari<\/a> graduated as a Forestry Agronomist in 1975. She has an extensive career, which includes her teaching activity at the Faculty of Agronomy, her role as National Deputy Director of Energy at the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining, and her activity as a consultant for international organizations and national companies such as Comurex, which carried out the first export of wood to Finland.<\/p>\n

Between 1990 and 1995 she was hired by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as national director of the UNDP-FAO Project \u201cSupport to Forestry Development\u201d, institutionally strengthening the National Forestry Directorate and its activities inside and outside the country, articulating with the competent authorities the different aspects to be taken into account to apply the 1987 Forestry Law, and implementing the National Forestry Plan.<\/p>\n

He held various positions in the private sector, in different companies of the Ence Group in Uruguay, in forestry, management and social aspects. In 2006, she ended her tenure as Vice President of Ence for the Americas. Since then, she has been the main partner of Rosario Pou & Asociados, in activities developed mainly in Uruguay and Paraguay.<\/p>\n
